Meredith Adler

Meredith Adler is an Affiliate with Pentallect Inc. She is a leading Analyst specializing in food, drug and dollar-store retailers as well as foodservice distribution and the healthy living market. She was rated the No. 1 Food and Drug Analyst in Institutional Investor’s annual poll for 14 straight years. Currently, Meredith serves on the board of directors of foodservice distributor Performance Food Group and provides consulting services to several other companies.

Meredith worked for 20 years as an Equity Analyst at Barclays Capital and it predecessor, Lehman Brothers. Prior to that, she spent 10 years as a High Yield Bond Analyst, following companies in the retail, healthcare and consumer product sectors. Meredith was trained as a commercial lending officer and spent eight years in the commercial banking industry before becoming an analyst.

Meredith received her B.A. magna cum laude from Boston University in 1977 and an MBA in Finance from New York University in 1985. She is a Chartered Financial Analyst.

George Latella

George Latella is an Affiliate with Pentallect Inc., with expertise in consumer packaged goods sales and marketing. He does sales consulting for CPG manufacturers through Latella & Associates; he also consults for Beacon Marketing Group, providing strategic solutions for companies through planning, marketing communications, direct marketing, e-commerce and quantitative research. For the past 25 years, George has been a Professor of Food Marketing at St. Joseph University in Philadelphia, teaching undergraduate, executive education and MBA courses.

George has written articles on shopper engagement, brand strategy, food marketing strategy and market segmentation and has developed and delivered presentations on food marketing topics for the USDA and numerous other organizations.

George brings to these roles 20-plus years of executive experience with Philadelphia’s Tastykake, where he served in positions including Director of Key Accounts, Director of National Sales/New Business Development, Director of Customer Relations/E-Commerce and Director of Marketing.

George earned a B.S. degree in marketing from Drexel University’s Lebow College of Business and his MBA in food marketing from the Erivan K. Haub School of Business at St. Joseph’s University.

Bob Planck

Bob Planck is an Affiliate with Pentallect Inc., dedicated to building profitable organizations and brands in hospitality, supply chain management, brand marketing and sales training and development. As President and CEO of Interconnect Enterprises Inc. since 1995, he provides consulting services to foodservice operators, distributors, brokers, manufacturers and associations.

Bob served for 15 years as Chairman and President/CEO of the Independent Marketing Alliance, the largest business alliance of independent foodservice distributors, and was Chairman/CEO of Customer Advantage Network, a loyalty program for customers of IMA member companies. Prior to joining IMA, Bob was Senior Vice President of Merchandising and Marketing for Ameriserve, a limited-menu distribution firm. He was a principal in four startup companies in the U.S. and Australia. Bob also held a number of executive positions at Sysco, including Corporate Vice President of Marketing.

Bob earned a degree from the University of Houston’s Conrad N. Hilton College of Hotel and Restaurant Management and took graduate courses at the University of Chicago and Chapman University. He completed a U.S. Army dietetic internship and, as an Army Captain, served in management roles including production control/quality assurance officer at the Army Quartermaster Center.

Mike Roach

Mike Roach is an Affiliate with Pentallect Inc. offering expertise in foodservice distribution and the transformation of the foodservice supply chain. He is the former President of Ben E Keith Foods, the nation’s eighth largest foodservice distributor, and served as Executive Vice President of its parent, Ben E Keith Company.  Mike was a founding member and Co-Chairman of the GS1 Foodservice Executive Leadership Committee, working toward the implementation of Foodservice GS1 US Standards to
drive waste out of the foodservice supply chain, improve product information and establish a foundation for food safety through better traceability.

Mike served as President of Ben E Keith Foods for 17 years, departing in 2015. He joined the company in 1980 and was named Vice President of Sales and Marketing in 1983 and Senior Vice President in 1986.

Mike has served on the boards of directors of the International Foodservice Distributors Association; Unipro Foodservice; Markon Cooperative; and Distribution Market Advantage Inc.

Bob Sala

Bob Sala is an Affiliate with Pentallect, Inc., providing expertise on foodservice distribution including business strategy, supply chain management, strategic alliance development and strategic sales and marketing. Bob is the founder, former CEO and a member of the board of Distribution Market Advantage, Inc. (DMA), a foodservice distributor-owned marketing and services company that provides restaurant chains with national distribution and supply chain solutions. He led the development and deployment of DMA’s e-Advantage cloud-based order management, data analytics and inventory management system.

Prior to founding DMA, Bob was Senior Vice President, Marketing, at the distributor buying co-op UniPro and its predecessor, North American Foodservice. He also held sales and marketing management positions with Hershey Foods and Xerox Corporation.

Bob sits on the Leadership Advisory Council of the DePaul University School of Hospitality and the Board of Advisors of Toppers Pizza. He previously served on the board of the Association of Food and Nutrition Management and as co-chair of the Distributor Advisory Committee of the International Foodservice Manufacturers Association (IFMA).

Bob holds an MBA from DePaul University and a BS in Political Science and Economics from Northeastern Illinois University.
